Estimating Uncertainty in Carbon Stores

In collaboration with professor David Moore and Dr. Yang Li in the School of Natural Resources & the Environment, we are building an analytical pipeline to compare data products estimating above-ground biomass (AGB). These data products are generated from a variety of remote sensing data inputs and vary in spatial and temporal resolution.  In addition to comparing these products to each other, we will compare them to high-resolution airborne LIDAR-based estimates of AGB at sites across North America. By comparing them and identifying regions where there is disagreement among them, we hope to make recommendations to stakeholders on use of these data products for estimating carbon stores.
