David LeBauer
David LeBauer, Ph.D. is the Former Director of Data Science for the Agricultural Experiment Station at the University of Arizona who founded the CCT Data Science team in 2018. He has a M.S. in Agricultural Ecology, a Ph.D. in Earth System Science, and has spent over a decade supporting data intensive research and multi-disciplinary collaborations. He is interested in using science to engineer more sustainable and productive crops and agricultural systems, and developing open software and data to integrate data and knowledge. He has led projects including the Predictive Ecosystem Analyzer (PEcAn) framework for data synthesis and forecasting with crop and ecosystem models and the construction of the TERRA REF phenotyping data and computing pipeline. He moved on from UA to lead Indigo Ag's carbon credit model verification team, and now works as an independent consultant.
