2025 Data Science Team Retreat
Our 2025 group retreat took place recently in mid-January at the the scenic Florida Station in the Santa Rita Experimental Range, bringing together our team for two days of focused collaboration, reflection, and strategic planning. This annual retreat served as an opportunity to set the course for the year ahead while celebrating recent successes. These discussions provided valuable insights into our collective progress and set the stage for an even more impactful 2025, helping researchers better use scientific software.
A highlight of the retreat was an afternoon session with colleagues from the Data Science Institute. This session was an excellent opportunity to catch up on what everyone is working on and coordinate training efforts. By aligning our work with the broader data science community, we aim to foster a more cohesive and effective approach to computational training at the University of Arizona.
No retreat is complete without a little fun! We took some time to unwind and strengthen our team dynamics through board games, playing rounds of Unstable Unicorns and Tiny Epic Galaxies. As we move forward into 2025, the discussions and connections from this retreat will guide our group's goals and engagement.
